85th Annual Wyoming Peace Officers Conference

The 85th WPOA conference is being held in Thermopolis at the Thermopolis Days Inn starting on September 17 and running through September 20, 2012.

The conference will begin on Monday September 17, 2012 with registration beginning at noon.

Registration will be followed by and executive board meeting at 13:00. Dinner on Tuesday evening will be on your own. There will be a Hospitality room open beginning at 19:00.

Registration will continue on Tuesday morning beginning at 07:00 until 08:30. The opening ceremony will begin at 0:730 with the presentation of the colors and an opening prayer.

Training will begin at 08:00 until noon. Lunch will be on your own on Tuesday. Training will continue at 13:00 and conclude at 17:00. A barbeque will begin at about 18:00 in Hot Springs State Park.

Wednesday morning will continue registration from 07:30 until 08:00 then the training will continue.

There will be several luncheons on Wednesday starting at 12:00. Training will resume at 13:00 and conclude at 17:00.

There will be a happy hour beginning at 17:00 with the WPOA Banquet and awards following at 18:30.

The WASCOPS, WPOA annual meeting and the WLEA meetings will be held on Thursday morning beginning at 09:00. The POST commission meeting will be held at 13:00 until 17:00.

For things to do after meetings and on free time Thermopolis has 2 public hot springs pools as well as the bath house for a more relaxed environment. We also have a 9 hole golf course. Thermopolis offers some of the best trout fishing in the area in the Big Horn River.

The WPOA Executive Board meeting will be 0900 a.m., February 24, 2012 at Wyoming Highway Patrol Headquarters. The address is 5300 Bishop Blvd. Take I-25 to exit #12, turn to the west on Central Ave (you will see the WYDOT Complex and the G&F Headquarters to the west). Then follow the signs (see attached map).

At WHP Headquarters you will enter into the lobby, identify yourself, tell the receptionist you are there for the WPOA meeting and they will let you in.

2012 Montana Narcotics Officers Association Conference

The 2012 Montana Narcotics Officers Association Conference is scheduled for March 5 – 9, 2012 in Bozeman, MT.

MNOA would like to expand its attendance numbers this year and want to ensure all areas of law enforcement are aware the MNOA Conference is NOT just for persons related to the drug enforcement field. The guest speakers attending will provide training that will benefit all areas of law enforcement.
